First District Communities - Central Falls
Nestled between Pawtucket, Cumberland and Lincoln, Central Falls prides itself with the distinction of being recorded by “Ripley’s Believe It Or Not” for being the smallest most densely populated city. The city may only be 1.5 square miles, but has over 18,000 residents. Central Falls was established in 1895, separating it from the town of Lincoln. Over the years Central Falls has had a booming textile industry and has become famous as the home to Elizabeth Buffum Chace, conductor of the underground railroad and abolitionist. She is also the first woman in Rhode Island history to be commemorated with a statue in the Rhode Island state house.
Today Central Falls has become a lively melting pot offering many interested things to do in the city.
